The Mindset Institute, in cooperation with the medical staff of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic at the Medical University of Warsaw, has developed a program of educational workshops for parents of children in mental health crisis. The workshops are intended for parents and guardians of young patients staying in psychiatric wards, as well as those under the care of hospital clinics.
The full workshop cycle comprises a total of seven 2-hour sessions covering knowledge about:
- the mental health support system
- socio-cultural challenges and their impact on young people’s mental health
- the challenges of adolescence
- knowledge about violence and aggression
- the role of the family system
- self-aggressive behavior in children and adolescents
- the basics of educational influences
The aim of the program is to support parents in better understanding their child’s mental health crisis. Our goal is also to equip adults with the knowledge necessary to wisely support children in the recovery process, both through parental involvement and the creation of a supportive home environment, as well as the ability to seek professional help.
A pilot series of workshops was launched on March 11, 2024.
